Supply Planning Team Lead, Kitchener Location

 

What it’s all about:


You are all about people, driving results and delivering service excellence through your strategic and decisive experiences Supply Chain Planning.  You will be a leader amongst the team as the dedicated planner for our Key Account customers, delivering our customer value proposition while ensuring business needs are met.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Provide direct leadership to Supply Planners with the support of the Senior Manager.
  • Onboard new team members, and provide training and coaching of existing team members on best-in-class processes.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans for the department and the organization.
  • Provide assistance with prioritizing Purchase Orders during periods of capacity constraints.
  • Liaise with the Operations, Transportation & Sales teams to resolve tactical, day-to-day issues.
  • Lead and support the FIFO management process to ensure at risk inventory is proactively being identified and actioned prior to expiration in collaboration with Planners, Vendors and Sales.
  • Lead and support the Reclamation & Customer Credit Approval processes in collaboration with Planners, Vendors and Sales.
  • Update, develop, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for core tasks for the department.
  • Drive the accuracy of Purchase Orders, and follow up with Vendors on PO confirmations.
  • Provide team support and back-up for vacations, unplanned absences or vacancies.
  • Assist in the execution of forward buys, and maintaining accurate and up to date Master Data.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in buying/planning within the foodservice industry or relevant experience.
  • A varied background in Supply Chain Planning and Inventory Management with a clear understanding of logistics and timing of purchasing effectively.
  • An independent and analytical thinker who is always positioning profitability and feasibility with each decision.
  • Strong initiative and sense of urgency when faced with challenges.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, and strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers.
  • Solid experience in negotiations and working with various groups of people.
  • Proficiency using various planning and forecasting software applications, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel).

 

This is a leadership role within Flanagan Foodservice and as such will require the individual to be onsite as per our current policies.
