The MRO Buyer will report to the Group Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager.    



  • Provide Leadership and direct activities involving Toro Group Purchasing common projects and vendors.
  • Lead new vendor onboarding activities for the group and manage and improve vendor database.
  • Execute MRO purchases for selected Toro Group of Companies and set standards for purchasing methods and policy compliance.  
  • Negotiate price reductions and supplier price increase avoidance.
  • Issuing purchase orders and ensuring vendor performance to them.
  • Hands on interaction with vendors and Toro plant personnel in support of manufacturing operations.
  • Requesting and analyzing supplier quotations.
  • Negotiating product price, delivery and quality.
  • Negotiate price reductions and supplier price increase avoidance.
  • Expediting material for some select inventory stock items.
  • Participate in and support company Lean Manufacturing initiatives.




  • 5+ years purchasing experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in leading a multi-plant centralized purchasing role considered an asset.
  • Experience coordinating multi-plant purchasing activities considered an asset.
  • Experience within the commercial window and door industry consider a strong asset.  
  • Completion of bachelor’s degree in procurement or related field.
  • Completion of SCMP designation (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience and involvement in quality and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP software.
