As a general labourer, you will be responsible for removing excess metal and unwanted materials from large metal fabricated parts, castings and other metal products, preparing them for our abrasive blasting process, before they move on to paint. This procedure is an integral part of the finishing process for our equipment.

Day Shift - Mon - Fri - 7am - 3:30pm 

Job Description

  • Read and interpret work orders, identify parts for blasting and prioritize work
  • Sand, grind, scrape and remove imperfections on metal parts
  • Review parts for quality accuracy in order to ensure quality
  • Ensure proper time management in order to complete tasks on time
  • Learn to operate metal cleaning equipment such as grit blasters to remove excess welds, scale and other material from surfaces of metal parts
  • Assist structural steel fitters and metalworking machine operators
  • Transport raw materials and finished products manually or using hoists or other devices
  • Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials
  • Clean work areas and equipment
