Summary
This position Journeyman Trade Person Electrician is responsible for the performing electrical corrective and preventative maintenance of all facility, production machinery and refrigeration equipment. As well, this position will be working on projects to improve safety, production efficiency and environmental at the plant.
General Description of Role:
Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Receiver/Shipper is responsible for well-organized and efficient preparation and handling of all incoming and outgoing materials.This includes but is not limited to; picking orders, receiving/shipping, loading/unloading, and warehousing of product and materials in and out of the freezers, coolers, dry goods warehouse and shipping dock area. The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for maintaining safety standards and practices, organization and cleanliness of the shipping and receiving area, and all related equipment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment.
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy of shipment.
- Pack, seal, and label materials to prepare for shipping.
- Perform tasks in multi-temperature environments.
- Adhere to shipping and receiving policies and procedures as well as all applicable Quality Assurance and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Accountable for conducting physical inventory counts for products, materials, and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year shipping/receiving experience.
- Must possess forklift/power jack license and have 1 year of operating experience.
- Computer knowledge and experience.
- Math skills and/or inventory counting experience.
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
- Key behavioral competencies include but are not limited to; organization, communication, time management, team work, accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Working Conditions:
Physical Environment: Frequent exposure to factors such as temperature variations or extremes, moving machinery, noise, and humidity that cause periods of extreme discomfort and/or a moderate risk of accident or illness. This position works in freezer conditions of –28 degrees.
Physical Effort: Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirement to lift, handle or carry material or equipment of moderate weight to heavy weights (50 lbs +).
Sensory Attention: Regular need to give close attention, either hearing or seeing, to what is happening.
Mental Stress: Work and environment tend to be repetitious or unchanging. Some pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands. There could be some mildly unpleasant social contacts and/or some concern about possible unpleasant situations.
