Role Summary:
Senior procurement professional to support the establishment and ongoing customer focused operations of a new build multi-modality AMTP facility. The role will provide leadership to ensure that equipment, services, materials and components are purchased and provide maximum value to the business. The role will sit within the Supply Chain function and will work closely with the end users and support groups. The Senior Procurement Lead will also provide expert support to CCRM for the purchase of higher value equipment and services. The Job Holder will support approaching C$60M of equipment purchases over the next 3 years.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, monitors and implements purchasing policies, practices and strategies as required by business needs
- Manages RFP and tendering processes
- Manages the Vendor relationships including assessment and recommends new suppliers to manage risk and/or improve efficiency
- Plans and sources items to meet the business requirements (Time, Cost, Quantity, Quality)
- Negotiates best value pricing, delivery terms and lead times from suppliers
- Supports/Promotes continuous improvement projects, including process and materials improvement options
- Establishes effective Purchasing Performance Goals and maintains metrics to monitor
- Coordinates with Quality Assurance for the Supplier Audit Program
- Works closely with Accounts Payable on the resolution of invoicing issues
- Participates in product transfer and new product initiatives
- Utilizes ERP system and assists in the implementation of system upgrades
Qualifications/Experience:
- BSc required in life sciences or business related
- 5+ years of purchasing experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Significant knowledge in vendor management, RFP, RFQ and e-tender processes
- Leadership skills and ability to manage and conduct meetings, lead procurement project, and resolve issues
- Lead change management initiatives though stakeholder management
- Experience of purchasing larger $ capital items and $10M+ per annum spend
- Understanding of GMP requirements
