About OmniaBio:

OmniaBio Inc. is a subsidiary of Toronto-based CCRM (ccrm.ca), a leader in developing and commercializing regenerative medicine-based technologies and cell and gene therapies. OmniaBio’s facility will be Canada’s first commercial-scale contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) dedicated to cell and gene therapies and is expected to be the largest facility of its kind in Canada.

 

Based at McMaster Innovation Park in Hamilton, Ontario, OmniaBio will anchor a biomanufacturing centre of excellence and open in three phases between 2024 and 2026. Benefitting from CCRM’s existing expertise and business practices, OmniaBio currently has established process and analytical development teams and contract manufacturing capabilities. About the role:

As an HR Manager, you will support the OmniaBio team by translating business needs into integrated Human Resources (HR) solutions to fully leverage people management, employee capability and organizational development. You’ll give people managers and their teams the tools and support they need to best serve OmniaBio clients.

 

You will use your HR experience to provide value added advice and counsel in all areas of HR, including performance management; rewards and recognition; retention; talent management; succession planning; employee relation; and, diversity. You can effectively manage the demands of the client group, and partner with the HR Director and the centres of expertise in the development of business specific HR solutions.

 

At OmniaBio we enable the work environment that is most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site while other days will be remote.

 

What you’ll be doing:

Leading and supporting key HR programs such as, but not limited to:

  • Facilitating new employee and leader orientation;
  • Partnering with the HR Director on organizational design initiatives and supporting the leaders with the implementation of their future state structures, writing new job descriptions, and participating in the job evaluation process as a key member of the Job Evaluation Committee;
  • Partnering with the HR Director in the performance management process by planning and coordinating the delivery of talent sessions, calibration sessions, and finalizing year-end compensation;
  • Building and implementing key reward and recognition programs;
  • Owning the current Mentorship program and completing annual reviews to create improvements to the program and maximize participation across OmniaBio;
  • Attending key business partner meetings and partnering to provide advice and counsel as required;
  • Anticipating and planning for future human capability needs by analyzing and interpreting workforce information, reviewing results of employee surveys, and discussing top-of-mind issues and concerns with the business and HR Director;
  • Reviewing current HR tools, programs and systems to ensure we continue to meet the needs of the business;
  • Managing early talent programs for Operations (internships/co-ops) and lead/co-lead the Employee Engagement Committee and associated activities.

 

Who you are:

  • You can demonstrate experience in an HR generalist or consulting role and have a solid understanding of HR concepts, policies, practices and governance/legislation.

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or an equivalent field of study and 4+ years of experience in HR.
  • You have demonstrated experience partnering with larger operations teams across various industries. Pharmaceutical, health care, or related technical industries are preferred.
  • You have strong experience with HRIS systems.
