Job Title – Manager, Commercial Operations

Role Summary:

Versatile individual with broad business operations experience with a specific focus on designing and implementing proposal and pipeline management processes and analytics.  Experienced with sales and marketing processes and able to drive project fulfilment in a matrixed environment. Oriented to business insight and creating strong processes and governance to support overall business strategy. You will report to the VP Commercialization and work closely with the Business Development Team as well as other key stakeholders at CCRM.


Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Operations
    • Manage the proposal and contract management process, working with Business Development, Technical, Project Management and Legal functions
    • Supervise and develop junior-level Business Development Associate /Proposal Writer to enhance proposal turn-around time and document standardization
    • Formalize the quotation process for GMP to improve accuracy and efficiency and work with Project Management to tie back to profitability assessments
    • Design and implement enhancements to contract management processes to increase efficiency, including increasing use of CRM analytics and reporting
    • Lead monthly revenue forecasting process and work with Finance to prepare executive presentations
    • Identify and build new analytical capabilities to track and assess pipeline, pricing and profitability
    • Assist the Business Development team as needed (CRM related needs, early stage outreach, Customer Satisfaction Surveys, etc)
  • Marketing Operations
    • Generate new marketing content based on technical and business input; work with Communications to post and with external marketing agency to utilize in lead nurturing
    • Work with BD Team to identify key differentiators and develop targeted marketing content; utilize input from external marketing agency to reach key audiences
    • Coordinate relationship between Cytiva and CCRM with respect to new marketing content creation and review related to content generated from the CCRM-Cytiva partnership
    • Coordinate Conference Strategy, including budgeting, sponsorship /presentation planning and support of related events for the BD Team; relaunch and support company-wide tracking platform
    • Refresh CDMO sections of CCRM website and provide strategic input to future OmniaBio website
    • Support Marketing Budget creation, tracking and reforecasting
  • Competitive Analysis
    • Canvas the CGT landscape on a regular basis to identify CMO and CDMO-related build, expansion and acquisition press releases and collate them into Competitive CDMO Tracker
    • Work with BD Team to identify key elements of differentiation in the competitive landscape and tie back to Marketing strategy
    • Help design, administer and collate information for CGT market research initiatives as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • BSc required in life sciences or business; advanced degree (MSc, PhD or MBA) desirable
  • 3+ years of business operations experience with a focus on proposal management, analytics and digital platforms, including CRM, preferably in a CDMO environment
  • 3+ years of stakeholder engagement experience, with a focus on biotechnology industry knowledge
  • Demonstration of strong  writing and science communication skills
  • Demonstration of strong project management skills and experience managing complex projects and processes

 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Diplomatic and professional approach in managing diverse stakeholder groups and various internal functions (Business,Technical, Legal and Communications), while maintaining a strong bias to action
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and experienced user of MS Office software
  • Experience with digital marketing, including website and SEO a plus
  • Excellent critical thinking, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to parse large databases and filter/data-mine critical information
  • Skilled in designing professional, executive-level presentations of complex information
  • Able to work both independently and within a matrixed team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize efficiently and meet tight deadlines
