Greenfield is looking for a Director of Finance & Accounting to join our growing team. 


The Director of Finance and Accounting (F&A) reports to the VP Finance & Administration. This role will be transforming the role of finance within Greenfield Global, driving the development of business and financial analytics, and providing guidance and decision support to the Specialty Chemicals and Ingredients (“SC&I”) business unit. The role will support the growing high purity alcohol, specialty chemicals and solvents business, by providing strategic and financial decision support to the SC&I management team. The role will oversee all finance and accounting activities for SC&I and drive a robust rolling forecast and strategic planning process and represent the corporate finance team in senior management meetings. The successful candidate will work alongside the Executive Vice President of the SC&I business unit as a trusted business partner, providing financial and strategic insights to grow the profitability and returns of the business unit.

Who You Are: 

  • Extremely strong Excel skills and an expert in understanding databases.  Requires knowledge of business intelligence systems (Vena Solutions and PowerBI are preferred).  Ability to build detailed business models
  • A systems expert with strong knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft D365 is preferred).
  • Excellent communications skills are key for success in this role.  It requires the ability to build credibility and constructive relationships cross-functionally at all levels in the organization
  • Strong initiative and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Requires occasional travel (North America & Ireland).

 

Your Experience Should Include: 

  •  A minimum of 10 years of prior analytical and finance experience in a manufacturing organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Finance.  Advanced degree or certification (MBA or CPA) is preferred

   

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and manage the overall SC&I financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and capital expenditures processes by working closely with the business unit sales, operations, and Corporate F&A team
  • Serves as the primary support for the EVP & Managing Director, and the SVP of Sales & Operations of the SC&I business unit on all financial and accounting needs
  • Oversee the U.S. and Ireland accounting teams
  • Work with the sales, operations, and accounting teams to analyze and understand monthly trending and business results. Produce and present standard monthly reporting for management including revenue and cost analysis, forecast reviews (actual versus forecast) analytics (pricing and cost factors), customer profitability analysis, product profitability analysis, and product costing analysis
  • Create planning templates, charts, graphs, trending, product, and cost analysis;
  • Preparing commentary and financial presentations for management, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
  • Work with the SC&I business unit and the Corporate FP&A team to create financial models, long-range forecasts, and design and implement integrated management reporting and dashboards using Vena Solutions and PowerBI
  • Support capex planning and forecasting, and business case development
  • Develop ERP system expertise
  • Drive cash flow planning for the US and Ireland legal entities
  • Identify and execute ad hoc analytical projects that deepen business insight and drive value to the business by providing information that assists in decision making
  • Identify, quantify, and address risks and opportunities to business results
  • Identify and eliminate accounting and reporting inefficiencies and collaborate with other departments in process improvements.
