How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:


Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Business Planning & Performance, the Senior Coordinator plays a supporting role in the preparation and allocation of corporate budgets through facilitating and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. This position provides support and analysis on reports and presentations for TRCA's Board and partner municipalities including but not limited to business planning, annual reports, budget submissions, and variance reports. This position is responsible for providing strong strategic and financial support along with advice to divisions and business units. The Senior Coordinator also aids in developing new and improved budget and business processes and the associated corporate training while ensuring they meet operation requirements and efficiencies of the Strategic Business Planning & Performance business unit.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Consult with Project Managers and Senior Management to plan, develop and allocate the 1, 4, and 10-year budgets.
  • Provide leadership and support to key business units across the organization in the development of annual deliverables within the TRCA Business Intelligence Tool (CPR). Confirms alignments of major projects to internal and external stakeholder strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Host consultation sessions with Directors and Senior Management to review preliminary budgets and incorporates required modifications based on available funding and priorities.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders and answer inquiries, follow up on problems, and deal effectively with client service issues.
  • Provide communication support to partnering municipality financial analysts and act as support to the Manager, Strategic Business Planning and Performance and Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO).
  • Supports the compilation of municipal and corporate budget presentations, supporting documentation and routine inquires.
  • Prepare and format correspondence, memos and reports of a general and technical nature.
  • Attend meetings to assist in arranging logistics, recording of information and be a resource person for meeting attendees.
  • Update databases for other groups to access including project status and budgetary reporting/monitoring.
  • Complete special projects on behalf of the Manager throughout the year (includes enhancements to databases and budget process, corporate training on project management/budget planning and reporting).
  • Work with staff across the organization to ensure consistency in approach and compliance with TRCA policies and procedures.

What will you need to succeed:

  • Undergraduate degree - Bachelor of Business or Commerce.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in related field.
  • Experience in project management leadership.
  • Understanding of corporate communications, business planning and strategic management with public sector and not-for-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, management controls, processes and tools.
  • Compliance with internal and external regulations regarding transactional services.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise with all employees and external contacts in a professional manner.
  • Ability to provide practical advice, interpret policies and procedures and make appropriate recommendations and decisions.
  • Strong planning, research and organizational skills with the ability multi-task and meet deadlines.
